STC Bunch 2005 Open - Round 1

I don't think I really wanted to win. I was too eager to trade off pieces in the middlegame and completely blew an opportunity to win a pawn in the last few moves of the game. It was a draw, but I could have played much better. Sigh...I hope I snap out of this draw mentality soon....

Ah that's a bummer. I make an effort to only play when I am up for it - I will likely lose otherwise.

Here's an applet if you want to show games online. I have not figured out how to get it to be in a nice frame.http://www.chessclub.com/chessviewer/pgnform.html

You told somewhere that you like to sac pawns for open lines and to play gambits. Do you have the habit to trade off the pieces in such circumstances too?

KOTS, thanks for the link. I'll see if I can get it to work. I hope it doesn't require me to have my own server, because I don't have one in that case.

Temposchlucker, I'm not sure if your comment is joking or serious, but in queen's pawn games I don't seem to play a lot of gambits. It's mainly in king's pawn games. I certainly have been forgetting Pachman's guidelines for when to exchange and when not to do so. I'll figure out my problem eventually, though. The important thing is that I've recognized a weakness in my game and work to correct it.

KOTS, I got the viewer to work, but you cannot add it directly to a post without doing some major surgery on your template. In effect, you have to clear out the post area HTML that the template automatically updates/tracks and replace it with the specific post information. Then you add the applet to the post where you want the game moves to show. I don't know what the long term consequences of doing that would be, but I'm hesitant to find out!

Well I had success using the
"applet codebase="http://www.chessclub.com/chessviewer/...etc"

after frame and iframe HTML tags in posts, but not comments. No template change :). Unfortunately it was not the correct size, so I deleted those posts. Maybe somebody who knows HTML can gets it right.
