It's Starting....

My endgame play is improving. I'm doing better at pawn endgames as I go through my mini-circles. However, as predicted, the other areas of my game are suffering. My tactical play is weak. My positional play leaves a lot to be desired. My thought process is jumbled. I just have to get through this learning and all will be good...even better. But, it's a painful process.

What are you using to go through end game problems?
Are you laying off of chess club until you finish these new circles? ( I know you said you weren't going to go as often, but have you changed your mind since its affecting your game?)

Nope, I haven't changed my mind about that. I believe that playing more during this process would just result in a large, discouraging loss in rating points. I'm using the Chess Endgame Training cd from Convekta.

I agree on the process being painful. Wish I had done this when I was young.

Thanks, GK! My opp's words to me were that he didn't see the tactics. So, tactical training DOES help.
