Team Chess 45 45, Round 4: Danish Death
My daughter broke her arm at her school's playground yesterday, so I wasn't sure I'd be able to focus well enough for my Round 4 game. Nevertheless, I plunged into the Danish Gambit against my opp I had faced in Round 1. The game got pretty intense....

Pretty wild game. I bet it felt good to play 27.Ne5+! after black took the poisonous knight..

Yep! I had my second longest think before that move (the longest being before I made 23. Rf5+). I had to be sure that I would win Black's pinned knight on move 31...and my brains were nearly mush by that time.
A game to my heart.
It's clear your efforts are paying off!
Hey, this game is good! you sure you're really a patzer!?
I coudnt understand the sacrifices, maybe I'll have to ask crafty for help.
Thanks, guys! I have to run this game through Fritz, myself, to see how sound my play was. He usually finds refutations to my crazy style of play. I do think that the exercises are helping me really hone my tactical skill, although when I work new themes I quickly find shortcomings in my tactical knowledge.
Nezh, if only I could play like this consistently, maybe I wouldn't be a patzer. However, my stronger opps will usually either refuse my gambits or quickly return the material in a way that prevents too much damage to their positions.
Super game. By the way, what program do you use to show a game?
Is this easy to install?
Margriet, I'm not using any special software. I've just posted a link to my game as posted on www.teamchess.org.
Dude, you are my hero!
PS
Aww, shucks, PS. :)
How is it with your daughter?
Kapow! Bam! Oooff! Wood flying everywhere, the black king with his butt in the breeze from the opening, sacrifices, poisoned pieces, aw yeah. Very fun game to play through, must have been super satisfying.
Thanks, PMD.
Tempo, she's got a cast. The doctor is concerned about the effect on her growth plate in her arm, so we'll have to go back in two weeks for him to re-examine her. We're just praying for the best.
Looks like we have a budding Tal here! Great game! I'll have to look through it more carefully later, but it looks like a game to truly enjoy.
Best wishes for your daughter.
Regards,
Chris
Thanks, fussy L. I ran the game through Fritz and, of course, Fritz hated it! There were refutations available to my wild play, but my opp didn't find them over the board, so I guess that's all that mattered.
