Since you are on Knight endings, can tell me if K+R vs K+N has a clear winner? I was playing this against my computer (I had the rook), and after about 50 moves still hadn't won!
Actually, I haven't gotten to that part yet! Rook vs Knight is two themes away. Right now, I'm working with just knights, pawns, and kings.
As far as your question, I'd think that it would be pretty nearly equal. Any theoretical win for the rook would be hard to realize over the board.
